Reason was primarily an attempt to help my glucose intolerance and I figured it could also help my weight loss program a bit (I'm down 55 lbs since quarantine started). The first 70 hours were not that bad (they really just felt like regular 24 hour fast), but counting down the last couple of hours before I ate I COULD NOT STOP thinking about food I was going to eat.
Word to the wise: take it easy on yourself when you start eating again. I didn't eat a ton (three eggs, some sliced up steak and a tin of sardines, which I spotted when grocery shopping yesterday and for some reason started craving immediately — keepin' it keto) but I had to make a couple of pit stops to the bathroom in the couple hours after I ate.
Anyone else do extended fasting? I've been doing time-restricted feeding (eating only between about noon and 6pm) pretty consistently for a couple of months but this was my first multi-day fast. I may try to do it once a quarter. Would be interested in hearing others' experience in this area.
