On your last point especially, 100% true

Once I dropped 50lbs in 3 months and I wouldn't so much as eat a single M&M. With food, abstinence is much easier than moderation in my experience. Just say no to fast food. Count your calories and be strict about it. And then the biggest key of all, figure out a plan that isn't torture. Make it your normal. Easy to say I know. It's about re-training your brain. It's how I got off regular soda, and how I never crave desserts or sweets. I still get super tempted by pizza and sometimes indulge too much but nobodys perfect. I can now eat 1500-2k calories a day and I'm rarely hungry. When it is a diet, you will ultimately fail. When it becomes your lifestyle, you will never suffer. They say nothing tastes as good as skinny feels and its 100% true.
