The one reason I’d really challenge my kid to keep playing
is that if you miss a year you’ll be so far behind it’ll be really hard to catch up if he changes his mind later.

My son did something similar at 16. He loved basketball and worked a ton to improve his cake. Going into his junior year

He's probably 15 now and a feshman. Made the team in 8th grade last year
