BTW, I agree with your take on Riley. One of the receivers from that era served
in our ward for about six months during the 2010 season. Anytime I mentioned how good Heaps looked as the season wore on, he would circle back to what a gamer Riley was. It was obvious that he trusted him and presumably a lot of other guys on the team felt the same. I couldn't see it at the time, but during 2011 it became obvious.
For some reason, people like to bag on Nelson, and I'll admit that he probably isn't in that upper echelon of BYU quarterbacks historically, but he played his guts out, he was fun to watch, and he had some really memorable moments as a Cougar.

Sitting in the end zone at ND, I can still see the awful throw to a wide open Hoffman. So bad. Would have been a score.
