I couldn't disagree with your assessment more. Yes, Jake had some issues, but I am in the camp that thinks that Riley was not only a decent QB, but borderline "great QB". I am sure I will get some negative comments for that, but I really thought Riley had a lot to offer. He was a fierce competitor and gave his all, he was an excellent scrambler and runner. This gave the offense a lot of opportunities.

Sitting in the end zone at ND, I can still see the awful throw to a wide open Hoffman. So bad. Would have been a score.
