Clueless. When healthy his arm wasn't bad. He saw the field very well.
He didn't have Hall's accuracy or zip, but he saw the field better, went through his progressions like few others, & threw to spots well (like Detmer — who also didn't throw a tight ball).
And he was of course twice the athlete of Hall. If he coulda learned to eat a down on a busted play he probably avoids getting hurt — & ends his career as a legend. The kid did a lot of things very well.

Sitting in the end zone at ND, I can still see the awful throw to a wide open Hoffman. So bad. Would have been a score.
