Buy the Sig you like, you won't regret it. I own the Ruger also. I take it to
range a couple of times a year to stay familiar and it's a great carry because of it's size but it's not a lot of fun to shoot. I doubt your sons will enjoy it. My wife refuses to shoot it anymore.

I've been shooting a bit and trying to decide what I like best too. The Sigs so far feel best in my hand.
