If we still schedule P5s in the OOC, the expanded AAC is fantastic!
We take the Boise State rivalry to a conference lineup...which adds fuel and significance to the rivalry fire. And, the national nature of the expanded AAC would bring us frequent games in California and Texas and then occasional games all over the rest of the country - Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Louisiana, etc.

Yes, we would have to switch out games here and there against NC State and Minnesota for SMU and Tulsa, but we would also replace NIU, Georgia Southern and UMass with Cincinnati, UCF, and Temple.

The bowl situation would get a MAJOR upgrade, with REAL access to the Fiesta and Cotton Bowls along with a lineup that could ultimately shape up to something like this:

Cotton/Fiesta/Peach v. P5
Liberty or Birmingham v. SEC/B12
Los Angeles v. PAC
Military v. ACC
Fenway v. ACC
Gasparilla v. ACC/SEC
First Responders v. ACC/B12
Independence v. Army/PAC
Armed Forces v. Army/MWC/CUSA
Hawaii v. MWC
Cure/Boca Raton/Myrtle Beach/Frisco v. G5

And, I note that ESPN has placed us in nice timeslots against AAC opponents...and both AAC games this year have delivered more than 1 million viewers.

BYU-Houston, ESPN Friday night = 1.16M
BYU-Navy, ESPN Monday night = 1.15M

As anticipated, the Sun Belt and CUSA opponents deliver lower-tier time-slots and results:

BYU-Troy, ESPN Saturday 10:15pm = 795K
BYU-LA Tech, ESPN2 Friday night = 505K
BYU-UTSA, ESPN2 Saturday 3:30pm = 317K
