Lame argument is lame. It's not about "deserved." Never has been
It's about making the NY6 bowl.
We'd much rather reach the NY6 than not. We'd much rather play Oregon or the AAC champ in the Fiesta Bowl than to play (and lose to) UCF or Kansas State or Arizona in December....and then finish the season against Nevada in the Idaho Potato Bowl.

Yes, Indy. I am ok with 8-4 with those tough schedules. 9-4 if win a bowl. That is a solid P5 season.
