This is coming from a guy who used to do a lot of driving and would listen to local sports radio ALL the time. I finally came to the following conclusion about GoMo:
1. He's just a cynical personality. He doesn't necessarily dislike BYU... he's just a negative guy in general who has a knack for finding things to complain about. He's a constant "devil's advocate" type; a "glass half empty" personality.
-OR-
2. He's a "click-bait" artist who has made a professional career out of rankling the feathers of the local fanbase. The mere fact that we're talking about what GoMo said about BYU's schedule is good enough for GoMo — "Any publicity is good publicity".
Either way, I grew really tired of him a long time ago and won't listen to his radio show or read his articles. His pot-stirring might hook some passionate listeners for a while, but he's never a "fun" listen. Same for his articles.
And aside from his Eeyore personality, he doesn't seem to have much unique knowledge about any given sport. His opinion carries about as much weight to me as the elders quorum secretary who talks Sunday morning about how Kalani "Should've called for a longer throw".
IMO, you'll be a happier sports fan by tuning him out, like I have.
