BYU and Cincy Not Happening
For the 50th million time, this game is not happening for the following reasons:

1. There is absolutely ZERO guarantee the winner gets into the playoff. NONE. This is a P5 club. Do you seriously think a one loss SEC team or Clemson/ND gets passed by an undefeated BYU or Cincy? Clemson is not losing to ND in the ACC championship with a healthy Trevor Lawerence.

2. If Cincinnati wins out they are guaranteed the G5 slot. If they lost they could get passed by an undefeated Costal Carolina or Marshall. At a time where ADs are bleeding money, you aren’t throwing that cash away.

3. BYU will likely be in the top 10 CFP rankings tomorrow. TA&M, Florida, and Northwestern will likely have one more loss. Realistically, if BYU wins out and adds and beats some middle of the road PAC 12 team, they go to a NY6 bowl.

4. You NEVER make a bad bet when the deck is stacked against you and the dice are uneven. The P5 doesn’t want their playoff party to be intruded on. It would take an absolute miracle for us to get into the playoffs and there is a lot that depends on things we CAN’T control. Running the table alone is not enough. Some of you are willing to walk away from good money and a NY6 Bowl that could get us good media and momentum for the next round of realignment to chase a pipe dream chance. That is not risk, that is complete stupidity.

I think realistic expectations need to set regarding the playoff and NY6. (mudpupper, Nov 23, 2020 at 3:19pm)
