Even if they wanted to (they don't), they would have difficulty this week cause
BYU didn't play. If suddenly we move up more than one spot without more than one team ahead of losing, they would essentially be admitting their previous ranking was off due to non-football reasons.
If we had played, there could at least be a case made they were impressed with our game and thus gave us a bump.
But the committee doesn't want to more us up. If they cared what the media thought on this matter, they would have respected the AP voters who had us at #8.
