The committee will not have 2 non-P5's in a position to get into the NY6, much less the playoffs. Too much money for the P5's at stake to let someone else in on the action. For them it was no mistake, but absolutely intentional and I doubt they change their approach because they get their marching orders for their overlords (P5 admins and athletic directors). I really don't think any of them care what the media pundits say. The only way 2 non-P5's get invited to the party is if both us and Cincinnati remain unblemished and all of the P5 2 loss teams lose again, making the divide between them and us even bigger. It would have to be so completely obvious that it was being rigged for them to pull back and give the outsiders more of the pie.
