I agreed w a lot of your takes, but I think you got those two groups top-to-bottom wrong.
96's DL was big & tough, but they were not very talented at all. Frisch was the only athletic one of that group & he was only an 18 yo Frosh. '84 & 2020's DLs have upperclassman NFL talent on them.
