It’s a Star Wars question, not a physics question
This is why I assert that you don’t even understand Star Wars.
It’s an established film franchise with overwhelmingly established precedent that Rian Johnson didn’t even follow.
The lasers are low hanging fruit to expose not understanding that.
It’s like making a Bond film where 007 no longer prefers fast women, drinks chocolate milk instead of alcohol, and uses public transportation instead of fancy cars.
Yet, there would be some like you that insist the unexpected changes are really compelling and it’s one of the best Bond films while actual Bond fans just stare back dumbfounded, saying you don’t understand 007 movies.
