One Ute’s Perspective
For me, the only real practical downside to BYU’s season is if it helps elevate BYU’s recruiting. We don’t live in Utah so we are fortunately out of the intense back and forth that exists in Utah, and so my kids feel like BYU is a fun second team to watch. They will be cheering for BYU today and I won’t stop them.

From an emotional perspective, the schedule is tough to ignore. All last year when Utah was in the CFP discussion, the consistent argument from my BYU fan friends was that the Utes’ schedule was too easy. Maybe they were right (it was a fun season regardless). But it takes some mental gymnastics to remember the criticism of Utah last year and now totally disregard that same argument when applied to BYU this year, even when the change wasn’t BYU’s fault.

Good luck today
