It will go up long term, but it will have all kinds of bubbles and manipulation along the way
More institutional holders may start to reduce the amount of manipulation or it also may just push them to exit BTC altogether.

Yes, the goal was to facilitate peer-to-peer, verified, non reversible transactions via a distributed ledger design.
