Any undefeated G5 team would easily get an invite to a 16-team playoff.

Probably even a 1-loss G5 conference championship.

But nobody needs to see the 7-4 C-USA champion in a playoff, and excluding them isn't a beauty pageant or relying on the eye test, it's holding them accountable for losing a bunch of games. On the field.
