This is the more likely scenario if expanded to 8 teams, P5s still keep most $
If it goes to 8 teams, most years, 7 of 8 teams will be P5s. That is not too different than the current CFP-NY6 set up as far as where the money goes. It would be acceptable to G5s since there will be a path to CFP inclusion. Biggest question is how to do bowls... will there even be NY6 type bowls outside of the CFP? Do you no move some new bowl into the CFP for quarterfinals? There would be 7 games total, they could be the 6 current NY6 bowls and a NC game that rotates sites. Would the bowls even want to further stray from their historical conference ties?
