Public support of the military is incredibly high, "support our troops" is not
a polarizing issue. Democrats and Republicans have favorable views of the military. And during the height of those wars it was as high as it had been since WWII- 91% said they felt proud of those serving in those wars. I don't remember support the War in Iraq rallies. Supporting the Troops did not mean supporting that war. The issues pushed by sports leagues today are far more polarizing.
