At least write it all down. When my dad died my mom had no clue and was like

your wife...not interested. Luckily my dad had decided to involve me instead, so I knew the status of almost everything. I knew his broker personally, I knew his investments, life insurance, etc. Made dealing with his passing, from a financial standpoint, much easier.
