to set themselves up to be wage earners. If they end up marrying into a situation where that isn’t necessary or wanted, great! But they shouldn’t tie their financial destiny to maybe getting married.
When I was in college a few years ago, I was blown away by all the girls majoring in exercise science with no plans to do anything beyond that: PT, nursing, become a doctor etc. the list of jobs you can get with that bachelor degree is only a little bit longer than nothing. To commit that much time and money to a degree that provides no financial security if it’s needed, doesn’t seem very prudent.
