I'm curious about the eye roll too.
There are a couple of YW in our ward who graduated high school in the last couple of years and are now basically sitting at home, waiting to get married and planning their future around being a stay at home mom. Sounds great - but not necessarily a great plan.

Meanwhile - in our ward we have a woman who's husband was the primary breadwinner until an accident left him unable to work. "Luckily" his wife didn't avoid developing any career possibilities and has been able to support them as primary breadwinner.

We've got another single mom who's husband died of cancer. Good thing she got an education while he was around and has been able to support herself and her children.

We've got another who's husband was a cheater who left her and her kids for another woman. "Luckily" she's been able to get into a career that allows her to support herself and her children, because the deadbeat won't.

We also have some single moms in our ward who are really struggling, because they really don't have any skills or education that would allow them to have a job beyond the most minimal. They are at various stages of trying to gain skills or education, or just working the best job they can find. But if they'd taken the initiative to not just plan to be a stay at home mom, they'd be in much better circumstances than they are now.
