& even worse when you watch the games.
We were not even remotely competitive in EITHER of those two final matchups. Man-for-man we were outmatched (which certainly wasn't on Max), but a QB who sees the field & extends plays --let alone one who could've actually hurt the Frogs with his feet-- THAT QB woulda at least made a game or two outa those losses. It's not like we didn't have offensive weapons to hurt the Frogs with. Max had 3 really good ones to lean on.
Not a knock on Max, personally. But let's be honest about his limitations as well as his weaknesses. There were plenty.
Yes, Max was more competitive against the yewts --back when the talent levels on both teams suggested we SHOULD be competitive with them. And yet --this time ON a personal note-- Max's final game against Utah: we'll forgive him for the simple fact the HC was ultimately responsible for NOT pulling his tantrummy, implosive butt early in the 3rd.
And giving Harvey a chance to win the game for us.
There was certainly a bad side to the kid's fire on more than one occasion.
