Can't tell without pictures but if you have something like this

you can use something like this to "plug" it and not have to cut out the T

Otherwise, just take a picture of the connection and walk into Lowes or Home Depot or Sprinkler World (Orem). And them them what you are trying to do. They will get the part for you.

A barbed connector in pvc? That seems odd. Those are generally reserved for drip systems utilizing drip line.
