Thanks for the help. I fixed problem 1.
It was exactly as TheLost’s picture. I hoped for a plug on the connector, but I had to put a little bit of swing pipe on first, then cap that. I was at Lowe’s reading your suggestions, which helped a ton. Thanks again for all your input.

The electric part still baffles me. Good voltage at the box. If I connect those wires to a different station, no go. If I connect a different station’s wires to the no-good station, it fires. Must be a cut somewhere in the line. Short of digging it all up, I don’t know what to do.
