the other went to Stanford, I went to BYU.
Both graduated a few years before I did, so they had a two year head start. We all landed tech jobs right out of college. UW grad was making like $80-85k, Stanford grad was making around that but got a signing bonus but he never told us how much it was. I'm also pretty sure they were making some kind of commission. I was making....$55k + quarterly bonus between $2,500-5k per quarter. We were all doing technical/sales engineering type jobs.
I was making a significantly lower salary but the funny thing was I had never felt more wealthy in my entire life. Once we all met for dinner a few months later in Seattle and we spilled the beans on how much everyone was making I felt jipped lol. I've never seen anything like this top 25 list from Stanford before. Was that really the deciding factor? That's nuts.
