Almost always politics involved with H.S. sports as some level.

My son didn't make the 8th baseball team but was invited to multiple SEC pitching camps because of his skill level. The middle school coached called him into his office and said I would have selected you but I was handed a list of names for 12 kids to be in the team from H.S. coach. For some reason H.S. coaches only wanted 12 kids when they are allowed 17. He played the same 7 kids all season and rotated the other 2 spots with the remaining 5 kids. It's stupid and many people were frustrated.

Rather then being locked up on a team that he wasn't getting time on he played on a fall travel team and got tons of at bats and innings pitched. We also worked with a recruiting service. One of the main reasons he has schools reaching out to him while others sit around and keep asking why and how my son is getting all the interest only being 14.
