being LDS and an Athlete does not entitle one to a scholarship from BYU nor does it entitle one to admission to BYU.. but for those reasons when the entitlement they are owed (solely in their mind) is taken away from their perspective they get angry because it's easier than admitting to themselves that they were not owed anything.

It's the Laman and Lemuel mentality that taught their kids and their kids taught their kids that they were wronged in the desert, on sea and in the promised land regardless of what the facts on the ground were

I am not saying that those that get offers or get in are more righteous but accepting your lot in life without grudges is a much healthier (spiritually) way of living accept that perhaps God wanted you were you are and accept it as a blessing.
