My question to you is how do we know just who is and isn't getting offered when they don't take the job?
Especially at the assistant level? It seems to be your default assumption that if they get offered they will with near-certainty take the job. Is that a valid assumption?

It depends. At BYU soon it won't be since steps up will be fewer. Guys rarely leave for lateral positions.
