PortlandCoug Intervention Needed
Or how about just learn best practices, the scheme and play calling combo
just doesn't have a very high ceiling. The base scheme is fine but BYU badly needs to disguise better and be situationally more aggressive. We've seen some changes this year but it's still not enough. Also, have to recruit better speed on the ends. BYU needs to be able to get more pressure faster and do so with a 4 or even 3 man rush and when they get they get the QB out of the pocket they have to have the ability to actually tackle him. On 3rd and longs, I would propose bringing in more DBs and on occasion having them blitz would be nice.

Part of the problem is that if BYU doesn't practice these things during the week, they won't be very effective during a game. Of course this is obvious but I'm of the opinion that BYU doesn't make great in-game adjustments because they don't prepare enough in practice. But this year with the lack of speed, depth and seemingly even poor physicality, even with adjustments there's only so much that can be done to stop teams.
