While the Fed is supposed to act independently it does not instill confidence when Janet Yellen goes strait from Fed chair to Biden Treasury secretary. Also they appear far more interested in managing expectations than doing anything. Their solution so far has been to only reduce asset purchases to $105 billion instead of $120 billion. They tried to convince everyone inflation was transitory and not getting worse. And they keep moving the goal posts on exactly what transitory means.
