Taysom isn’t in the NFL for his passing abilities to begin with
So I can’t follow that argument.
What Taysom and Jaren both have in common is that neither are anticipatory throwers. Both have “strong” arms but struggle with touch and timing. Both are much better athletes than they are passers.
The main difference is that Taysom was throwing to Skyler Ridley and JD Falslev with a poor offensive coordinator, and Jaren has the luxury of an awesome OC and awesome receivers, maybe the best group ever at BYU.
Taysom just happens to posses a freakish level of SIZE along with freakish ATHLETICISM, which allowed him to carve out a spot on an NFL roster after a long uphill battle. Jaren is looking at an even more uphill battle. Hope it works out for him, would be a tremendous success story.
