This ^^^^^ I grew up in the West and thought that all fanbases were intolerant

until I started attending lots of road games and realized that most people are fairly nice. I now live in the Midwest and I can guarantee you that people here are much kinder about the Church than in the West. The PAC-12/MWC footprint has some pretty belligerent fans. I've heard some pretty crass stuff in Tucson, Seattle, Salt Lake City, and Los Angeles, but everybody's pretty tame towards us east of the Mississippi. Not sure if it's related to how people lean socially and politically, or if familiarity with the Church and its members breeds contempt.
