Defense played well. Utah didn’t necessarily show as much pacience with their run game as they probably should have. I believe they average like 6 yards a carry or something like that? Because they were behind they tried to throw more and they also had key turnovers. Also of course a key point of the game was defenses ability to stop them on fourth and short in the redzone in the first half. Statistically that was a little bit unusual since BYU’s percentage of stopping 4th down this year was one of the worst in the country (due in part to poor run defense alignment). But you credit the defense for making a play there.
