worked directly with airlines worldwide. I never complained about traveling for business to Islamic countries. (Most of my colleagues would gripe and eyeroll about going to places where it was difficult to find booze). My Muslim business counterparts were gracious and family-oriented and never tried to push alcohol in an attempt to be good social hosts. (They were generally a bit stunned when I told them I was a teetotaler.)
Practicing Muslims who want to study in the States have to feel like a fish out of water given the booze-centric nature of university social life (and US social life in general)--e.g., keggers, bar-hopping, cocktail parties, etc. BYU is a great alternative, and they receive a quality education.
