Just trying to eat better. Avoiding simple carbs, cutting sugar, really focusing on foods that don't come with a label. Basically eating meats, veggies, fruits, whole grains (if any at all) and nuts. I am not exact but close to it. For example, when the temps hit the 20s I made some hot chocolate with my kids. When I ate grapefruit I sprinkled some sugar. Being disciplined but not perfect, just want to be healthier.
My goals are to lose weight and get my eye-popping cholesterol numbers down. Fortunately all of my other metrics are good and blood pressure is perfect. But I've got to get my weight and cholesterol in check so they don't start impacting the other metrics.
So all that boring stuff is just the lead in to say 10 days in and I am down 4 pounds. It is a surface scratch and I've got 50 pounds to go. But at least I've taken the first step.
