Later, and it had been a wonderful profession/career.
Pros:
- you can make as much as people who are in school 2-3x as long as you
- hours can be very flexible
- I love solving problems….sales is just problem solving at its core. Listen to what people want/need, and if you have what they need, boom.
- I love talking with people from many walks of life. Sales has provided that
Negatives:
- stressful going from one month where you are “hitting goal” and then the calendar flips, and it’s like you have to start all over again.
-if you take off long periods of time, your finding pools can dry up
- you fight the “stigma” of being a snake oil sales person - but this is up to you!
Bottom line- if you have a great product or service to represent, then it doesn’t feel like selling…it feels like connecting. If your product or service sucks, then find a new opportunity. You’re only as good as the product or service you represent is.
