2. Burgess took a can't-miss opportunity at a promotion & pay raise — to his Alma Mater. NOTHING surprising there. Most probably with Pope's full blessing.
3. Lohner wanted to get back home to Texas. Really good kid, but I don't think it was the basketball culture at BYU that was the problem for him. Watching Baylor (a team that had recruited him hard) — watching them win a championship his Frosh season had to have been tough.
4. You obviously don't know anything about the Gideon George situation.

You need to take a look at the other roster exits & shuffling across the NCAA if you really think BYU is all that bad in this regard. It's the nature of the game in the NCAA right now, & I like that Pope was ahead of the game with the changes. He's the least naive HC we've ever had here.

Our team culture is probably fine. We desperately need some team leadership, though. And it looks like Pope is intent on recruiting some of that in through the Portal. Williams surely helps, & Allick looks like he'd really help in that regard, too.
