Live sports content is King especially in a very competitive viewing landscape with not only traditional broadcast networks looking for content, but also streaming players. The Pac-12 fully owns their Pac-12 network rights as they didn’t sell them to Fox or ESPN. As stupid as Larry Scott was, owning these rights was the smartest thing he did. Less profits in the last 10 years, but should pay off immensely in the next negotiation for tv rights. It’s why the Pac-12 brought in Kliavkoff because of his experience in this area.
