As a fan, yes, I want the very best players to play for my favorite sports team.
As a college coach, I would want the very best players to play for my team. Regardless of how much DNA we share.
As an athletic director (and a fan), I would be deeply disappointed and angry if one of my coaches refused to recruit his/her own kid (who happens to be one of the best players in the country) simply because "they don't want the drama."
This isn't little league anymore. This is college sports.
Imagine if Kalani Sitake had a 5-star QB son. Would you advise Kalani to encourage his son to sign elsewhere?

Drama, pressure, parental oversight, and strain on what should be a relationship of 100% support. I’m sure it’s great
