I just have to laugh! Yes, house prices may fall for a year or 2 but history
and data tell us the value of property will turn around and increase in value sooner than later. It's like your 401(k), It does go down and we have bear markets but historically the markets always head back up. Smart investors do not try and time the market in Real Estate or Stocks. Buy the "dips" in the markets for the long term and if you don't have a long time horizon or do not like risk, you should not be speculating in either investment anyway.

I do not worry about the current value of my house because I need a place to live for me and my family so its irrelevant to me. If the Real Estate market turns into a buyers market, (which I am not sure it will) I will look into buying another house, just like I am buying stocks now that i feel are cheap compared to where I think they will be priced in 10-15 years.
