That's actually how to play the long game
I'm getting a feeling many of these posts are coming from younger home buyers or investors on CB. Any old get-off-my-lawn dudes like myself have been through these markets not just in 2008. Seems that's what everyone points at but we've had market downturns in real estate a number of times, 98, 89, and they all hit Utah, sometimes 6 months to 12 months after they hit the bigger cities, but they do affect Utah as well. Not sure where people get this idea because there are some tech companies in Utah that we're immune from normal market fluctuations but that needs to stop. If we do go into a recession that will affect a lot of Utah families, especially if the tech sector retracts significantly. I don't know enough about Utah's tech sector to know how well they'll survive another 1999 DOT.COM adjustment, at least it looks like in the news we're going to find out soon.

But you are correct, just play your strategy correctly, buy when the market is down, and it will eventually go back up again, always does, always will.
