Transferring does nothing to help him for the next level. The only thing it does is raise a red flag on transferring mid-season right after a tough loss. It's not like that red flag is going to win out over everything. But you can bet that the scouts are going to grill him on that (assuming his measurables are good enough to even care). They are going to grill Arod and the BYU coaches and his new coaches. His best story should be "I was young and dumb. I've matured a lot since then."
ONCE AGAIN, Holker should be able to do whatever he wants, it's his life. I'm only speaking to the hypothetical of him moving BECAUSE of the wanting to get to the NFL. There could be and likely are many other reasons to make a move. I'm only speaking to the hypothetical and if somebody is in his ear talking NFL and that's the reason to move, then Holker should slap that person in the face and never speak to them again for giving such terrible and atrocious advice.
The fact that he's preserving the redshirt makes me think this isn't about the NFL at all (in which case my hypothetical doesn't even apply).
