I guess you haven't seen the advanced stats. The offense has been unreal. If the offense performed at the same level
as the defense then 6 win seasons would be the norm with this schedule and 3-4 wins once we join the Big 12.

Fortunately the offensive coaches don't believe in your philosophy that they can't be great.

Quite a few things wrong with your first sentence: "The offense has an advantage in that it initiates the direction and defense has to anticipate or react. Reacting requires more talent."

First off, many defenses play proactively. Just not ours. A press coverage for example requires the WR to be reactionary. A blitz requires the QB to throw the hot route and the lineman to react.

Second, it is just plain wrong. It takes talent to run the football. It takes talent to get open. It takes talent to throw the football. These are called the skill positions for a reason.

BYU's very worst unit is the defensive line. You are either beating the guy in front of you on a run block or a pass block. It is not very reactionary (I mean everything in football is to an extent). Ask Von Miller if it is him or the offensive lineman that has to react to him. Your whole notion of more talent needed for one side of the ball is just silly.
