...last year Iowa St finished 7-11 in the Big12 and still made the NCAA tourney. They put a couple of good games together and made a run to the Sweet Sixteen. They lost some transfers from the year before and then added one really good grad transfer from Penn St who glued their team together and led the way to a #11 seed. They didn't have a roster full of big time recruits (2 who were top 100 players coming out of high school), took their lumps in conference play but had some nice wins in OOC play (#25 Xavier, #9 Memphis, Creighton, Iowa).
