I think that we implicitly consider a teen suicide to be more tragic than the suicide of an adult (we value and protect
our children more than the adults in society). I don't think this is a conscious thing, but it's naturally hour we think.

And we have a tendency to over-estimate the risk of loss of things we value the most. The more tragic a loss would be, the more likely we think it is to happen. It's just how our brains work. (Not that you can't overcome that tendency, but you have to be mindful to do that.)

In a way, this is neither here nor there, but I do find this to be an interesting aspect of human nature.

(And I had also assumed the percentage of suicide that are teens would be higher than 6%, so I was also surprised by what you found.)
