There's no dissonance here, you have fundamentally misunderstood everything relevant about my initial post and my worldview.  I was not disagreeing with Zooropa that empathy for white men is low or that expectations are high.  I'm commenting on where those expectations are coming from.

The idea that one has failed in life if they haven't married and produced offspring is not coming from the purple-haired woke schoolteachers that tell boys they're not sissies if they cried at the end of Old Yeller.  It's coming from the Matt Walshes of the world who tell them that's the ideal of manhood.  That's what toxic masculinity is, the idea that there is only one narrow, correct way to be a man and everything else is "soy", "cucked" etc.  It never meant that anything traditionally perceived as masculine like eating rare meat and lifting weights is inherently toxic, or that mascuilinity itself is as you put it.

suicide impacts men because masculinity is toxic.
