Which is interesting, because blackface offends because of historical context
where whites dressed up in blackface to play the fool in a play. But now that historical context is lost and anyone putting on black makeup for any purpose, whether positive or negative emulation, is now doing the WORST thing EVER.
I agree that it shouldn't be done anymore, but I also feel like we shouldn't cancel people who did it unintentionally ... for example, imitating a pro athlete that they liked.
