It seems like there’s a very simple solution. Take the donation check intended for BYU football and give it to football.

Then reroute the same amount of university funds that were going to be used for football to other areas. The budget stays the same. I’d be really surprised if they aren’t already doing this. BYU and the church didn’t get to be this rich by turning down donations.
